Attention CIMcloud (and Website Pipeline) site owners! We’ve got a security update in the works that we wanted to share, and more importantly, describe how it could impact your website.

In a nutshell, the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council (PCI-SSC) recently released FAQs ahead of changes to their data security standards. Among their recommendations, the Security Council heavily encouraged hosting providers to upgrade their Transport Layer Security (TLS) as soon as possible.

UPS and FedEx both announced in 2014 that dimensional weight will be utilized to calculate the billable weight of a shipment. UPS will start using this on December 29th, 2015 and FedEx on January 1, 2015.

Website Protection: The end of SHA-1 Certificates

At Website Pipeline, we're dedicated to ensuring sites are not only secure, but also available to the widest audience. In the coming months, both Google's Chrome browser and Mozilla's Firefox browser are changing their policy with respect to certain website certificates. We are aware of these changes, and need to make our customers aware to ensure customer sites continue to be secure and available to all visitors.
