Employee Spotlight: Tristan Walters

Jul_23_2015__MG_8885-2.jpgTristan Walters is a developer on the Project Management team and has been with Website Pipeline for over 4 and a half years.

He's accomplished a lot during his time here, but arguably his greatest achievement was the invention of the Trashtendo (see picture below) during the most recent Website Pipeline FedEx Day. It's not very easy to use and incorporates little modern technology, but most of the materials are "recycled trash" so it's an eco-friendly collector's item.

Read on to learn more about Tristan Walters, Website Pipeline Software Developer.

What's your favorite hobby/ What do you like to do outside of work?

I have a wide range of hobbies but the one I've been doing for the longest would be collecting old video games. I know I have over 400+ Nintendo games and hundreds of Atari 2600 games. My collections for other systems aren't nearly as impressive. I also enjoy camping and 3D printing.

Which college(s) did you attend, and what was your focus of study/degree?

I have a degree in Computer Science from Clemson University.

What is your favorite book?

Neuromancer is one of my favorite books. I love anything with a cyberpunk setting/theme.

What programming languages are you fluent in? Do you have a favorite?

I'd have to say I'm most comfortable with JavaScript. Although I'm rusty with it now, I'll always have a special love for C since that's what started it all for me.

Tristan2.jpgWhat is your theme song?

Anything with swag in the title.

What is your favorite type of music?

I mainly listen to hip-hop or hardcore music.

Who is your hero/someone you look up to, and why?

Buzz Aldrin. He seems like a cool guy, plus he walked on the moon.

tristan4.jpgWhat project/goal that you worked on are you most proud of?

I created a reproduction of the office in Doom 2. Everyone has been dropping candy bars off at my desk ever since for some reason.

What is your life motto/favorite quote?

Roses are red, violets are blue, they don't think it be like it is, but it do.

Tell us at least one interesting thing about you that not a lot of people know...

I write rap songs in my free time. I turn notepads to ash.

Tristan is one of 60+ Website Pipeline employees, all of whom are in North America. He was once abducted by aliens, leaving him with a horse head and an elephant brain (though he doesn't like to talk about it). You can learn more about the Website Pipeline culture on our website, or visit our Meet The Team page to see more WSP employees.
